Family Sunday – Woodturning

The Keltenwelt am Glauberg offers a hands-on programme for children and adults on this Sunday.

Wood Turning

On this Sunday, our visitors will experience demonstrations and hands-on activities on the lathes and can watch how a replica of a historic bowl or mug is created from freshly cut green wood using various techniques.

As a hands-on activity for children, there is the possibility of joint woodturning on the rocker lathe and the subsequent processing of the objects with natural materials (sanding). For children, young people and adults there is also a bow-operated and a rope-operated lathe (both in two-man operation) for independent work.

INFO
The hands-on programme is an additional offer for our museum visitors and requires the purchase of admission tickets for the museum.

Venue: in the museum garden
Event time: from 10 am to 5 pm
The hands-on programme is free of charge.

Special features:
– Craft with tools and metal
– Parents are asked to support their children in the practical work and are responsible for supervising them
– Children under 12 years of age may only participate if accompanied by at least one adult (suitable for children aged 7 and over)
– Waiting times may occur when there are large numbers of visitors
