The world of the Celts

THE WORLD OF THE CELTS

The world-famous life-size statue of the "Celtic prince of the Glauberg" and the graves of three warriors of the Celtic elite lay undiscovered in the ground for over 2,400 years. When the excavation team began their research at the foot of the Glauberg in 1994, nobody could have guessed that a scientific sensation would come to light. Here, on the northern edge of the Celtic world of Europe, no one expected to find a Celtic "princely seat" and correspondingly richly furnished graves of the Celtic elite.

Our museum presents the original finds from the Glauberg, including settlement finds, which provide insights into the world of the Celts at the Glauberg around 400 BC.

The exhibition takes into account the wide range of "Celtic" cultural phenomena - from the Celts of the 6th to 1st century BC to the supposed Celts of the British Isles and contemporary "Celticism" in music, customs and fashion.

The exhibition on the Keltenwelt am Glauberg is located in one of the most spectacular museum buildings in Germany at the moment. The building is a project by kadawittfeldarchitektur Aachen
