Archaeological traces in the heart of Europe
10 March to 31 December 2022
In 2022, museums, state archaeology, city and district archaeologies as well as research institutions and associations will present many new and interesting facts about the Iron Age, the time of the Celts in Hesse.
In order to make the interesting cultural heritage of Hesse known to the public, a Hesse-wide project team from museums and archaeological monument preservation came together in autumn 2018 at the suggestion of the Keltenwelt am Glauberg to jointly organize the first major year of archaeology throughout Hesse from 10 March to 31 December 2022. Under the title "KELTEN LAND HESSEN - Archaeological Traces in the Heart of Europe", special exhibitions, excursions and guided tours to archaeological sites, hands-on activities for the whole family, activity programs for school classes, lectures and workshops will be offered at many locations.
An international conference will focus on new findings on the Celts in Europe and especially in Hesse.
