Unique offer of the Celtic World at Glauberg for schools
To get even more schools interested in the Celts, the Celtic World at Glauberg has now developed the project "Kids discover the Celts in Hesse" to accompany its highly acclaimed special exhibition. "We want to actively promote interest in the Iron Age in Hesse and especially in Celtic culture as a topic for lessons," emphasises Thomas Lessig-Weller. The museum educator at Keltenwelt am Glauberg has therefore produced an information brochure for teachers. "In addition to richly illustrated texts on many exciting aspects of Celtic life, the brochure also contains worksheets for lessons, including solutions," Lessig-Weller continues. It is now available to download free of charge from the museum's website.
Together with the Friends of the Keltenwelt am Glauberg, another attractive offer for schools has been developed - Kids discover KELTEN LAND HESSEN. "We not only want to draw attention to the museum as an extracurricular place of learning, but also enable many school classes to visit the exhibition on the Glauberg free of charge this year," explains Frank Dehnke, Chairman of the association. With the help of a large amount of funding, 50 school classes can now take part in this unique project.
During a guided tour, pupils from the 4th grade upwards explore the special exhibition "Kelten Land Hessen", which will be on display until 31 October 2023. Thanks to extensive hands-on materials, they will literally understand how innovative and multifaceted Celtic life was in the Iron Age. At the newly designed "From Ore to Sword" information pavilion in the museum garden, pupils will also learn lots of interesting facts about the processing of iron and steel over 2,000 years ago. Teachers will also receive the new brochure with educational material free of charge for preparation and follow-up work.
