Tinder, burning glass and pinewood – A short cultural history of fire making

The lighter from the supermarket, the light switch on the wall: little remains of the challenge that our ancestors had to face in order not to have to eke out an existence in the cold and darkness. In this program you will find out about the ingenious inventions and discoveries that were made.

Note: Since this is an outdoor activity and fire-making is associated with strong-smelling smoke, students should wear suitable, durable clothing.
