Workshop: Razor-sharp from flint

A handy knife with a flint blade was an indispensable piece of equipment even in the Neolithic period. Ötzi, the Iceman from the Ötztal Valley, also carried a small dagger with a flint blade over 5,000 years ago. In no time at all, you can create a razor-sharp Stone Age everyday tool from a flint blade, bark, and Stone Age glue – a knife with which you can easily cut leather and rope, and even vegetables if necessary. The special exhibition "Paths Through Time: The History of Glauberg" clearly shows that such knives were also used at Glauberg many thousands of years ago. Sturdy footwear and long trousers (work clothes) are required for this course.
