Workshop: Nordic-style comb weaving

There is evidence of comb-woven borders dating back to the Hallstatt period. The technique is still widespread today in the northern and eastern regions of Europe. These were mostly decorative borders made by brides for their dowries, especially for festive and Sunday best.

This workshop also focuses on the importance of paying attention to patterns. On this day, participants will begin a sampler book that will enable them to design and weave further patterns at home. Each participant will be given three different samples to choose from to take home.
The comb weaving tool is made of wood and can be brought along if you have one or purchased at cost price after registering for the course.
