Celtic World Lecture: Local and Foreign from the Iron Age Cemetery of Nidderau
Lecture by Wolfram Ney MA
One of the largest Iron Age burial grounds in Hesse was excavated in Nidderau between 2008 and 2011. The archaeologist Wolfram Ney reports on the results of his dissertation on this site. In addition to the typical finds of the local Hallstatt culture, non-local objects were also found in Nidderau, which reveal connections to distant cultures. The grave goods from the La Tène period also show this picture. In addition to the local costume objects, comparable pieces from Champagne to Bohemia can be found.
