Excavations of the Celtic World Research Centre at Glauberg
as part of the International Summer Academy
Open Excavation Day
on September 6, 2025, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In 2023, the team of the International Summer Academy, led by the Celtic World Research Center at Glauberg on the Enzheimer Kopf, successfully documented the remains of an approximately 3,000-year-old Late Bronze Age settlement.
Excavations will continue there this year to determine the extent of the settlement area. At the same time, a profile through the approximately 2,400-year-old Early Iron Age rampart in the Enzheim Forest will be uncovered and documented to understand its structure.
The excavation team invites visitors to an open day on Saturday, September 6, 2025, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., to learn about the progress and results of this year's excavation. Since there is no parking available near the excavation site, visitors are asked to use the parking spaces of the Museum of the Celtic World at Glauberg and follow the footpath shown overleaf to the excavation site.
Visitors are advised to wear sturdy shoes.
