Family Saturday – “Celtic Wave Bracelet”
This Saturday, the Celtic World at Glauberg is offering a hands-on program for children and adults.
Bangles were popular and characteristic pieces of jewellery in Celtic women's and men's costumes. Bracelets and necklaces were made from valuable gold and the then well-known bronze, but also from the new, modern material that gave the period its name: iron.
Based on an original find from the Odenwald, which can be seen in the Hesse-wide special exhibition "CELTS LAND HESSEN", young and old visitors can make a wave bracelet out of copper or iron. It's all about bending and hammering until the waves bend!

The hands-on programme is an additional offer for our museum visitors and requires the purchase of admission tickets for the museum.
Venue: in the museum garden
Event time: from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last participation at 4 p.m.) – it is recommended to book at least 40 minutes before the end of the event.
Time required: 30-60 minutes
Cost of materials: 3 €

– Crafts with tools and metal
– Parents are requested to support their children in the practical work and are responsible for supervision
– Children under 12 years of age may only participate if accompanied by at least one adult (suitable for children aged 5 and over)
– Waiting times may occur when there are large numbers of visitors
