Family Sunday – Archaeobotany

The Keltenwelt am Glauberg offers a free hands-on programme for children and adults on this Sunday.

Archaeobotany to touch and participate in
Our young and old visitors can actively familiarise themselves with the laboratory method of sludging. The large plant remains found in the soil material can be analysed with the help of magnifying glasses.

examined and identified by comparing it with botanical material. The focus will be on the food plants of the Celts at Glauberg and how they were preserved. A small puzzle and a creative activity complement the hands-on program.

The hands-on programme is an additional offer for our museum visitors and requires the purchase of admission tickets for the museum.
Venue: in the museum garden
Event time: from 11 am to 5 pm (last participation 4.30 pm) - it is recommended to book at least 30 minutes before the end of the event.
Time required: 30 minutes

Special features:
– Parents are requested to support their children in the practical work and are responsible for supervision
– Children under the age of 12 may only participate if accompanied by at least one adult (suitable for children aged 10 and over)
– Waiting times may occur when there are large numbers of visitors
