Archaeo-Workshop "Prehistoric Wire Production"

How were the things that we can still admire today behind glass in the museum made? In the future, specialists in archaeotechnology will come to Glauberg to get to the bottom of this very question. The new archaeo-workshop offers a focus on Celtic craftsmanship and teaches it in a very practical way. You can look over the shoulders of the craftsmen and women as they work, listen to their explanations and be inspired by the reconstructed craft techniques of the Celts.

Look over the shoulder of an archaeotechnician in today's archaeo workshop: follow the movements of the hands that use a hammer, pliers, fingers and two thousand year old technical principles to create a piece of jewellery in Iron Age design from iron or copper wire.

Fibulae, the ancient “safety pins” and decorative garment clasps, already had a two thousand year old technical history in Celtic times – hear more about this in the archaeological workshop and don’t be afraid to ask questions!
