During excavations at the foot of the Glauberg, archaeologists discovered traces of an extensive area with ramparts, ditches and burials. Was this once a sacred or holy area?
The large burial mound, together with part of the "processional way" and 16 enigmatic wooden posts, was reconstructed after the excavation. It is a highlight of the archaeological park.
Our Research Center will continue excavations in this area in 2020 and 2021.
The area is freely accessible during the day at your own risk and admission is free.
