The Glauberg has been inhabited on and off since the Neolithic period around 7000 years ago. It experienced its heyday in the time of the Celts around 2400 years ago. There was even an imperial castle on the Glauberg in the High Middle Ages.
In our 350,000 m² archaeological park, you can explore many traces of the exciting history of the Glauberg. Nature lovers will find an extremely rich variety of flora and fauna here.
Below the museum lies the large reconstructed burial mound with mysterious wooden posts and a section of the “processional way”.
On the mountain plateau, meter-high ramparts of the once mighty fortifications of the Celtic “princely seat” and the foundations of medieval buildings have been preserved. Follow the Keltenwelt Trail up the mountain. At 20 stations, information boards provide information about the history and nature of the Glauberg.
The Archaeological Park is open during daylight hours and is free to enter at your own risk.
